High-speed progressive stamping is the lowest-cost per-piece method for volumes above 100,000 units. At 400 SPM, a single shift produces approximately 240,000 pieces — making it the standard process for electronic connector terminals, spring contacts, and medical clip components.

Precision Blanking & Piercing

Blanking and piercing define the perimeter geometry and internal features of stamped parts. Our toolroom maintains a dimensional library of standard punch and die sets, allowing us to begin prototype production on many standard feature sizes within days of drawing receipt — rather than waiting for custom tooling manufacture.

For fine blanking requirements (smooth, square shear faces with no roll-over or break angle), we offer external fine blanking partnerships with certified fine blanking presses — appropriate for hydraulic valve discs, locking ratchet plates, and precision lock components.

Deep Drawing Services

Deep drawing forms flat sheet metal into cylindrical, rectangular, or custom-profile hollow shapes by pressing a blank through a die with a punch. The ratio of the drawn part height to its diameter (draw ratio) determines how many press stages are required. Our standard draw ratio capability is up to 3:1 in a single draw; greater depths require re-drawing operations.

We deep draw stainless steel 304/316L, aluminum 1050/3003/5052, copper C11000, and mild steel CR1008. Drawn parts are produced on hydraulic and servo presses from 100T to 300T. Typical applications: battery cell cans (aluminum), medical syringe body housings (SS 316L), electrical motor end caps, and filter housings.

Complex Tooling: Bending, Embossing & Coining

Progressive and stage dies can incorporate secondary form features including bends, ribs, embossments, threads, and coined surfaces in the same die set — completing the full part geometry in a single press pass without secondary operations. Our toolroom designs and manufactures these compound tools in-house using CAD/CAM programming with dimensional simulation before cutting.

Coined features achieve the tightest dimensional tolerances in stamping — by flowing material plastically into the die cavity, coining can produce flat surfaces to +-0.01mm and stamped contacts to exacting force requirements measured in grams per millimeter of deflection.

Beyond the pressing operation itself, we offer a comprehensive range of value-added services to deliver assembly-ready parts: surface treatment (zinc plating, nickel plating, tin plating, passivation, anodizing, powder coating), tumble deburring for burr-free edges, tape-and-reel packaging for automated insertion, custom labeling and barcoding per your WMS specification, sub-assembly (pressing in standoffs, riveting, spot welding), and supply chain programs including JIT delivery, Kanban replenishment, and consignment inventory. For precision contact and terminal programs, we coordinate tin or silver plating with our certified plating partners before tape-and-reel packaging. For automotive programs, we provide PPAP documentation, material traceability, and statistical process control (SPC) reports. The goal is to ship parts that go directly to your assembly line without receiving inspection or additional processing.

How do you ensure the quality and precision of stamped parts?

Quality is controlled at four stages. Incoming material inspection confirms strip thickness, hardness, and MTR compliance before the die is loaded. Die tryout inspection measures all features against the drawing before production release — we do not begin a production run until the first-article parts pass all dimensional checks. In-process inspection samples the strip every 500-2000 strokes depending on the QC plan — checking feature positions, burr height, and die condition. Final inspection applies AQL sampling to the finished lot. For critical dimensions, we use CMM measurement or optical comparator systems. We provide FAI reports as standard and offer 100% automated vision inspection for high-volume programs where zero-defect delivery is contractually required. All dies are maintained to original dimensional specifications between production runs, and we document die condition in a run log.

What are your CNC press and servo press capabilities?

Our stamping presses include servo-electric, mechanical crank, and hydraulic press types across the 15T-400T range. Servo presses are used for applications requiring variable slide motion profiles — such as deep drawing stages where slower approach speed reduces material thinning — and for high-precision progressive work requiring consistent stroke-to-stroke repeatability. Mechanical presses run at the highest SPM rates (up to 600 SPM on our high-speed progressive lines) and are standard for electronic terminal and contact production. Hydraulic presses provide the longest dwell time at bottom of stroke — preferred for coining, embossing, and deep drawing. The term ‘CNC stamping’ in our context refers to CNC-controlled servo-drive presses and CNC-controlled die cushions, not CNC milling; stamping is a different manufacturing discipline from CNC machining.

We return a quotation with DFM feedback and a tooling cost estimate within 24-48 hours. For new programs, the standard process is: DFM review and quotation, tooling order and payment, die manufacture (4-6 weeks for progressive dies), die tryout and first-article approval, and production release. Repeat orders after first-article approval are typically shipped within 2-3 weeks. We can begin tooling manufacture after a 50% deposit.
